Meal Pic Terms of Use

What Meal Pic is

Meal Pic estimates the nutrition in food from photos, barcodes, and descriptions, and keeps a log of what you have eaten.

Estimates are estimates

Every number Meal Pic shows you is an estimate, not a measurement. Photo scans infer portion size from what is visible in the frame; database entries describe a typical version of a food, not the one on your plate. Real meals vary widely. Treat the numbers as a useful guide and correct them when you know better — every value in the app is editable.

Not medical advice

Meal Pic is a general wellness and fitness tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical, nutritional, or dietary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Calorie and macro targets are calculated from standard formulas applied to the details you enter — they are a starting point, not a prescription. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, and especially if you are pregnant, under 18, managing a medical condition such as diabetes or kidney disease, or have a history of disordered eating. Never disregard professional advice because of something this app displayed.

The novelty scanner

Meal Pic will cheerfully estimate the "nutrition" of things that are not food, such as your hand or your cat. This is a joke. It is clearly labelled as such in the app, the numbers are meaningless, and it is not a suggestion that you eat anything. Do not eat anything that is not food.

Subscriptions

Meal Pic is free to download. Full access requires a Meal Pic Pro subscription, sold as an auto-renewing subscription through your Apple Account:

Prices are shown in your local currency in the app and may differ by region; the price shown on the subscription screen at the moment you purchase is the price that applies. Discounted offers, where shown, are described on that screen.

A subscription unlocks every feature of the app for its period: unlimited photo, video, barcode and label scans, AI food search, the food database, meal history and progress charts, streaks, and Apple Health sync.

Free trial

The yearly subscription may be offered with a free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription and your Apple Account is charged. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, the unused portion of the trial is forfeited.

Renewal and cancellation

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends, at the price for the plan you selected.

You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. We cannot cancel or refund a subscription for you — Apple handles all billing. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your content and your account

Your food logs and photos are yours. You are responsible for keeping your Apple Account secure, and for the accuracy of the details you enter. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account, which permanently removes your data from our servers.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or abuse the app or its services, use it to break the law, or interfere with it working for anyone else. We may suspend access that does any of these.

Availability and changes

Meal Pic depends on third-party services that can be interrupted, and we may add, change, or remove features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. If we change these terms materially, we will update this page and note the date above.

Disclaimer and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meal Pic is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and Church Street Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from its use. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Apple's standard terms

Use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it.
